My first design project sadly failed. I knit my son a vest using the sideways knit technique used in my red handspun sweater. My best guess is that I didn't knit enough space under the arm as it's too narrow to fit comfortably around his belly and it looks sort of strange. I'll be unraveling this and starting over. Isn't it funny how the self striping showed up right at the buttonhole "placket" area? That won't happen in the second version, I'll bet!
