I'm in love with this new wheel. I had trouble stringing the temporary drive band and getting her to draw yarn onto the bobbin, but once it worked, it was magic. She is completely silent as she spins and I had to drag myself away to take pictures this evening. This is my Christmas gift from my husband. And he was thinking of a diamond ring. I thought he knew me after all these years! 

I love this old skein winder. It had a wicked squeak and layers of dirt, but some oil and Murphy's oil soap did wonders. I hope to wind on a skein of woolen spun merino x corriedale tonight and test her out.
